***3rd Annual Recycled Fashion Show***
Saturday June 19th, 7pm

Our biggest and best fashion show yet! 30of Austin's most creative indie designers
have taken reclaimed
materials from Treasure City's outflow and transformed them into
completely fresh and unique outfits. This is an amazingly talented
bunch, and we can't wait to see what they've come up with. New this
year: Some of the organizations we support (KPWR People Will Radio, La
Semilla Childcare Collective, Queer Sol, and Texas Rollergirls) will
be modeling in the show (helping to increase the diversity of model
types) and the sale of the outfits they wear will go directly to their
organization. Fair Food and La Semilla will be serving up delicious
tamales at the show as a fundraiser for their upcoming trip to the US
Social Forum. That Damned Band will entertain us before the show and
the afterparty will have a great mix of rock and hip hop including
Golden Bear, Pataphysics, Damp Heat, Storm Shadow, and Gidon the
Mighty Warrior. And of course, our much more spacious location will
allow us to spread out and be more comfortable. It all starts at 7pm.

If you are (or know of) an elderly or mobility impaired resident of
Treasure City's neighborhood (Mckinnley Heights and Homewood Heights),
please RSVP so that we can reserve seating for you. Fill out an RSVP
card at the store, call 524-2820, or email cory@treasurecitythrift.org

There are tons of different volunteer opportunites before, during, or
after the show, please contact us at
www.treasurecitythrift.org/volunteerform. Volunteers get in free to
the afterparty in addition to receiving our usual volunteer discount.
Treasure City is a primarily volunteer-run project - it can't happen
without you!

Please help us spread the word by forwarding this email to your friends.

gently used plus sized clothing -please keep us in mind!

Other great new stuff -a hard case for your turntables -price just
reduced to $45. Several boxes of brand new blank shirts (perfect for

25 cent sale, the luxury version

saturday, may 22, 11am

25 cent sale, the luxury version25 cent sale, the luxury version

when is a 25 cent sale luxurious? When every single thing is hanging up or on a table. If you've been to our previous sales, you know what a difference this could make. Will it take all the fun out of digging for bargains if you're not on your hands and knees? We don't think so. We've just rearranged fixtures so it's not quite as messy, but it *is* still full of clothes and other items all yours for 25 cents each. We *won't* have a 25 cent sale next month, so this is the last chance at least till july.

To make room for our fashion show next month, we're also clearing out tons of furniture. So you could pick up a chair, desk, file cabinet, or shelf for 25 cents too. get there early for the best pick. we'll have it ready for you when the gates open at 11, and the rain won't slow us down this time.

kisses to you for helping to create solidarity not charity -supporting grassroots organizations working for fundamental change, keeping reuse and collective organizing going strong in austin

please pass it on, you are our only advertisers.

TREASURE CITY 3rd Annual Recycled FASHION SHOW
June 19th
I know…we missed you last October, but we’re gonna make it up to you now. This years fashion show will be at our brand new beautiful location with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the work of Austin’s indie designers turning reuse into an art…we’re also working this year to include the groups we support in the show, and to increase the diversity of designers and models. We’d love for you to model, especially if you don’t fit the model mold…more info coming soon. If you’d like to design for us, please sign up BY MAY 3rd at www.treasurecityfashionshow.com. Space is limited and preference may be given to designers who opt in to work with the groups we support as models (you can indicate that on the webform if interested).
We’ll also be looking for a ton of volunteer help in all areas: planning and promotions, set up, decorations, lighting, and breakdown, staffing the after party, etc. Let us know if you’re interested in helping out. Also, if you’re a student or new to the field of fashion or event production (non-profit or otherwise), we could work with you to make this a academic credit or resume building internship opportunity. Contact cory@treasurecitythrift.org.
