Calling All Austin Artists

The east austin studio tours are right around the corner - http://www.eastaustinstudiotour.com/. They will be happening November 17th and November 18th. We are offering space on our lot to artists who wish to display, promote, and sell their art. Right now it seems like the east side of our shop is the best option for doing so. A pavilion would be provided and erected to provide cover from the elements and places to hang art. We also have a number of folding tables available, but not enough for the number of artists we hope to have. There will be no charge for use of the space, but we do expect the artists to assume responsibility for sales as well as any other details we work out between here and there. Since the space is finite we do ask that you email us with your interest. Artists who get in touch earlier and commit to being there first will be given priority.
What's happening at Treasure City?
A lot actually. We rearranged the bay area to make it less cluttered and more inviting. We have set up a free box outside to give stuff away. We have discounted our blue tag merchandise (see previous post). J Muzacz has gotten youth from the community to start the first mural on the exterior of Treasure City. And a lot more! Come by and check out all the happenings and see what new and wonderful merchandise is for sale.

Yellow Bike
Although they are not open yet, Yellow Bike did move the contents of their Wheatsville shop over on Saturday, entirely with bike power. It was very cool. A few pictures of their arrival at Treasure City follow.
Austin Yellow Bike Project
Treasure City Thrift is pleased to announce that Austin's Yellow Bike Project will be opening its new satellite shop in a newly constructed space adjacent to our store next month.
Yellow Bike will be moving their Wheatsville Satellite shop to its new location at Treasure City Thrift (they are not open yet, but we will announce it when they do). They plan to move their entire 300 sq. ft. satellite shop by human power. If you are interested in helping them with this monutmental task, meet at Wheatsville at 12:00 (noon) this Saturday with your bicycle, tricycle, bike trailer, panniers, backpacks, bungie cords, or anything else you think might help out.
