Facebook can be a great tool for getting staying in touch with folks, and we use it. But we always want to make sure we're /using it/ rather than /being used/ by it. When indie businesses advertise their presence on Facebook (or Yelp or Google Places or Twitter or whatever) it can help connect them with more people. But it also results in free advertising for huge corporations that really don't need the help. We want to take advantage of every communication method that will help us reach further, and meet people where they are.
From November through January, all of the money collected in the donation jar by the register will go directly to the Austin Harm Reduction Coalition. Throw a little extra in the jar and help the AHRC continue their important work!
Treasure City prices are low, if you're able, please consider supplementing these prices by making a donation when you're checking out.

This summer we began a new partnership with Inside Books Project - they are staffing the store on Sundays and taking home 100% of the proceeds on those days. It has been a huge success and we've been able to increase our financial contributions to the project by over 10 times!
